Share the spirit, invite others to enjoy choir in Tabernacle

Conscious of the power and potential of the Tabernacle Choir as a missionary tool — and the fact that choir members are individually set apart by priesthood leaders for that purpose — the choir leadership is extending a special invitation to Church members who live within a feasible distance from the Salt Lake Tabernacle.

The invitation is to attend the weekly nationwide choir broadcast and especially to bring friends who are not members of the Church or who are less active.

"As the Tabernacle Choir begins its 72nd year of broadcasting nationally, we are grateful for the opportunity we have to be representatives of the Church," the choir leadership stated.

"Besides our worldwide tours, numerous concerts and media performances, we make every effort to reach out to the world through our Sunday morning broadcast of 'Music and the Spoken Word.' Each week we welcome guests from all regions: tourists as well as local visitors who choose to share time on Temple Square enjoying the beauty here and feeling the spirit of the Sabbath morning."

The choir rehearses before each broadcast, and everyone attending the broadcast must be seated no later than 9:15 a.m. The broadcast itself is 9:30 to 10 a.m.
