New Hampshire stake delivers 128 hot meals to homebound

CONCORD, N.H. — Members of the Concord New Hampshire Stake delivered hot, home-cooked meals to homebound individuals in their community Nov. 22.

"The saints of our stake were thrilled at the opportunity to reach out to the community and bless the lives of those neighbors who were in need of help," said stake President Bryson Cook.

The six wards and branches in the stake delivered 128 meals. Each meal included two Cornish hens, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit salad, rolls, cranberry sauce, dinner mints, cookies, pumpkin pie, whipped cream and ginger ale.

Members prepared the food at home and, while it was still warm, brought it to their meetinghouse for distribution.

Several community organizations assisted Church members in locating names and addresses of individuals to serve. The recipients were very happy to hear that they were going to receive a home-cooked meal. One gentleman was so excited that he called his case manager several times during the week to make sure the meal was still going to arrive.
