The Tabernacle Choir was featured on a new stamp issued in Nicaragua, the Dec. 27, 1975, Church News reported.

The stamp displayed a photo of the choir seated in the Salt Lake Tabernacle with the famous organ pipes as a backdrop.

The LDS choir was one of 11 choirs from around the world in a series commemorating Christmas. Others included: King's College Choir of Cambridge, the Regency Edinburgh Choir, Vienna Boys Choir, Westminster Cathedral Choir and the Choir of the Abbey of Montserrat.

The article stated: "The series featured a quote by Pope John XXIII: 'The spirit of God is the soul of music.' Also featured on souvenir sheets was a copy of the original manuscript of 'Silent Night.' "
