Millions of African-Americans have a new family history research tool following the Church's release on Feb. 26 of the Freedman's Bank Records on CD.
The CD includes a database documenting several generations of African-Americans immediately following the American Civil War. It is believed to be the largest single repository of lineage-linked African-American records.
Church member Darius Gray, shown on the cover, co-directed the project.
