Stake helps evacuees

MONTE VISTA, Colo. — During the Millions fire in South Fork, Colo., which began on June 19, many stake members of the Alamosa Colorado Stake came to aid those who lost homes or were evacuated. Members served meals at the Red Cross shelter and donated relief items to help those in need.

"My family and I spent a lot of time at the shelter as a result of losing our home, and we were pleased to see the examples of those members who served," said Janel Lowder. "The word that spread through the shelter was 'what nice people those Mormons are.'"
