1,000 attend Brisbane Family Expo

BRISBANE, Australia — More than 1,000 people attended a family expo — sponsored by the BYU School of Family Life and the University of Queensland Parents and Family Support Centre — in the Brisbane, Australia, Convention Centre July 27.

The conference, "Strengthening Marriage and Family," was also organized by the Queensland Australia Alumni Chapter and the Family Council of Queensland, an association of pro-family organizations including the Church.

BYU professors Brent Barlow and Jeff Hill offered the keynote addresses. Topics at the family expo included "The Power of Positive Parenting," "The Art of Parenting Teens," and "21 Days to a Better Marriage."

While in Brisbane, Brother Hill also addressed a business leaders' breakfast sponsored by the Australian Institute of Company Directors on Balancing Work, Family and Flexibility, and Brother Barlow spoke during a lunch for community, government and academic leaders sponsored by the University of Queensland Family Centre on "Why Marriage Matters."
