Living by the scriptures

Wherefore, I would speak unto you that are of the church, that are the peaceable followers of Christ, and that have obtained a sufficient hope by which ye can enter into the rest of the Lord, from this time henceforth until ye shall rest with him in heaven.

Moroni 7:3

I remember sitting on the bench of the chapel of the St. George temple, saying a silent prayer that as I waited upon the Lord in His holy temple I would find some comfort.

I have always enjoyed life and its adventures. In this particular season of my life, however, I had felt that the ebbs and flows of life had left me sea sick, exhausted and weary from the ride. I sat in the Lord's house trying to let go of the things that troubled me and hand them over to Him.

I opened the scriptures and felt a prompting to turn to Moroni. Nothing could have brought more solace to me at that time than this inspiring thought to rise above the situations that worried me and enter into the rest of the Lord — to increase my trust in Him and know that all things will work out for He has promised us that He will help us and that as we seek Him we shall find Him and His peace in this life and in the life to come.
