MESA, Ariz. For months, young men and young women from five Mesa stakes practiced swing, jazz, disco, hip-hop, and country-western dance steps. The effort paid off recently as nearly 2,000 youth participated in a dance festival held at Mesa High School Stadium.
"From the beginning we hoped to have our youth be involved in something wholesome and grand," said the dance festival's chairman, Alayne Favreau of the Pueblo Stake. "It was definitely that."
Nearly 8,000 spectators watched the event, "Celebrate!" presented on April 12.
