Book of Mormon paintings displayed

Seventeen original oil paintings depicting epic Book of Mormon scenes by award winning artist Walter Rane, recently displayed at BYU's Museum of Art, will be on temporary display at the Museum of Church History and Art in Salt Lake City from Monday, Sept. 22, through Sunday, Oct. 12.

The Museum of Church History and Art is hosting the exhibit so that audiences in the Salt Lake City area will have a chance to see these works. It will be open conference weekend.

"By the Hand of Mormon" can be seen at the museum Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and most holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The museum will close early at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. The museum is located at 45 N. West Temple in downtown Salt Lake City and just one-half block north of the Temple Square TRAX station. Admission is free.
