Ghana temple to open doors

The First Presidency has announced the open house and dedication dates for the Accra Ghana Temple.

West Africa's first temple will open its doors to the public on Dec. 3, 2003, and, except for Sundays Dec. 7, and Dec. 14, remain open through Dec. 20.

The temple will be dedicated Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in three sessions. It will open for regular ordinance work on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.

This temple was announced Feb. 16, 1998, and ground was broken and the site dedicated Nov. 16, 2001, by Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve. A temple in neighboring Nigeria was announced April 2, 2000, and ground was broken for this temple Feb. 23, 2003, by Elder H. Bruce Stucki of the Seventy.
