'You radiate happiness'

UPOLU, Samoa — Students from the Church College of Western Samoa assembled for a devotional June 11, featuring Relief Society General President Bonnie D. Parkin and Young Women General President Susan W. Tanner.

Before the devotional both women conducted training in Upolu. Earlier in the week they visited Sauniatu, traveled to Savaii for training and attended a devotional at the Church College of Vaiola.

Elder Robert K. Dellenbach of the Seventy and president of the Pacific Islands Area attended the devotional and introduced the speakers.

"You look like sunshine, not because you have on yellow shirts and blouses, but it's in your faces," Sister Parkin told the students. "You radiate happiness."

To conclude, Sister Parkin shared her testimony that President Gordon B. Hinckley is a prophet. "I know that he loves you, the youth of the Church, and I know that he believes in you. I know that he loves education. Educate your minds, and your hearts and your hands."

Sister Tanner also reminded the students of the love that President Hinckley has for the youth of the Church. She then talked about being baptized, keeping covenants and ordinances and having a sense of belonging, and testified to the students.

They can pray, they can find comfort in the scriptures, and make and keep covenants, she said. "You are never alone," she concluded.
