'Women at the Well'

COFFS HARBOUR, Australia — Marion Braun of the Coffs Harbour Branch in New South Wales Australia has been publicly awarded for her continuing community service efforts in her city.

Most recently, Sister Braun helped orchestrate an inter-faith presentation of "Women at the Well" by Kenneth Cope, featuring 21 women of differing faiths, that has since played at the majority of churches in her area.

Sister Braun has been a member of the mixed denominational "Coffs City Choir" for 14 years and suggested this Latter-day Saint production for their performance.

The first production was held at the Salvation Army Worship Center to an audience of 75. Since that first performance, "Women at the Well" has been performed at St. Nicholas Anglican Church and St. Augustine's Catholic Church to packed congregations. Once word got out about the presentation, the choir was approached to perform at St. John's Anglican Church, St. Margaret's Anglican Church, The Seventh Day Adventist Church and St. Xavier Catholic Church.

"Our performances are touching the hearts and souls of Christian people in all congregations in our community," Sister Braun said. "It has been a rich and rewarding experience and I never dreamed that it would receive such acceptance."

Sister Braun is the organist in the Coffs Harbour Branch.
