Jordan's Queen Noor joins in wheelchair ceremony

AMMAN, Jordan — Queen Noor of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan participated in presenting new wheelchairs to 25 children with special needs at a donation ceremony held July 24 in Amman, Jordan.

The wheelchairs were donated by the Church and the Wheelchair Foundation. A total of 500 wheelchairs will be donated to the people of Jordan over the coming months. Queen Noor greeted each child as she presented a special certificate.

Elder Ralph Johnson, Europe Central Area Welfare agent, presented the wheelchairs to Dr. Ratib Hinnawi, president of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Hanin Nabell Saleen, mother of one of the recipients, expressed gratitude on behalf of the parents and children.

Elder Johnson presented a copy of "The Mission," a pictorial story about the Church, to Queen Noor. She commended the Church for its humanitarian efforts throughout the world.
