Attack leaves 2 LDS Marines dead in Iraq

Two LDS Marines were killed in a terror attack in Iraq on Monday, Sept. 6.

Lance Cpl. Michael Allred and Lance Cpl. Quinn A. Keith were among seven Marines who died in a suicide attack outside the city of Fallujah.

Brother Allred, 22, was a member of the Carlsbad 2nd (Young Single Adult) Ward, Carlsbad California Stake. Prior to his enlistment, he was active in the Hyde Park 2nd Ward, Hyde Park Utah Stake, in northern Utah. His bishop there, Roger M. Welsh, said that Brother Allred was considering serving a mission after leaving active duty in January.

Brother Keith, 22, a member of record, joined the Marines after graduating from Page (Arizona) High School. He also lived in Blanding, Utah. He was near the end of his tour in Iraq.
