New temple presidents

The following have been called as temple presidents and matrons. Their photos and biographies will be published next week:

Billy Joe and Marianne Sue Keener Eaves, Nashville Tennessee Temple, succeeding President Buryl Gene McClurg.

Thomas Scott and Marian Olsen Hendricks, Lubbock Texas Temple, succeeding President Jay B. Jensen.

Harold Harrison and Mona Ellett Hiskey, St. George Utah Temple, succeeding President L. David Muir.

Ashton Harvey and Naomi June Hollie Taylor, Ciudad Juarez Mexico Temple, succeeding President Gerald Merrell Pratt.

Other new temple presidents and matrons are:

Grady Lynn Barnes, 71, Wake Forest Ward, Raleigh North Carolina Stake; called as president of the Raleigh North Carolina Temple; succeeding President Richard D. Lee. President Barnes' wife, Genevieve Bryant Barnes, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Raleigh North Carolina Temple presidency, President Barnes is a former temple ordinance worker, bishop and stake and ward family history consultant. He is a retired assistant chief, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. He was born in Alexander, N.C., to Elisha Floyd and Lucy Blondell Mullis Barnes.

Sister Barnes, who serves as assistant to the matron, is a temple ordinance worker and ward family history consultant. She was born in Austinville, Va., to Johnathan Byrd and Susie Jestin Mabe Bryant.

Carl Lavon Call, 64, Dublan Ward, Colonia Dublan Mexico Stake; called as president of the Merida Mexico Temple; succeeding President Fernando Rogelio Gomez. President Call's wife, Jean Russell Silver Call, will serve as temple matron. President Call is a former mission president, stake president, high councilor, stake mission president and bishop. He is a farmer. He was born in Colonia Dublan, Mexico, to Charles Helaman and Hannah Skousen Call.

Sister Call is a former stake extraction director, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary secretary, Relief Society teacher and Cub Scout leader. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Hiram Clawson and Virginia Russell Silver.

Byron Ronald Christensen, 69, Vancouver 3rd Ward, Vancouver Washington West Stake; called as president of the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple; succeeding President E.A. John MacLennan. President Christensen's wife, Zelma Faure Anderson Christensen, will serve as temple matron. A counselor in the Portland Oregon Temple presidency and a temple sealer, President Christensen is a former temple ordinance worker, mission president in Halifax, and stake president. He is a retired businessman. His parents are Edward Marion and Marie Miller Christensen.

Sister Christensen, who serves as assistant to the matron, served with her husband when he was a mission president. She is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency and a ward Primary presidency and a volunteer with LDS Family Services. Her parents are Lars Kent and Beatrice Faure Acord Anderson.

Nicholas Peery Collins, 71, West Linn Ward, Lake Oswego Oregon Stake; called as president of the Portland Oregon Temple; succeeding President George Dale Weight. President Collins' wife, Susan Leilani Ralston Collins, will serve as temple matron. A sealer in the Portland Oregon Temple, President Collins is a former mission president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and elders quorum president. He is a retired vice chairman of Esco Steel Corp. He was born in Palo Alto, Calif., to Calvin Gaines and Virginia Peery Collins.

Sister Collins, a Relief Society compassionate service leader, served with her husband when he was a mission president. She is a former ward Relief Society president, Young Single Adult activation missionary and ward activities committee member. She was born in Waimea, Hawaii, to William Leslie and Selma Violet Kruse Ralston.

Oris Lorenzo Corbridge, 73, Sparks 7th Ward, Sparks Nevada Stake; called as president of the Reno Nevada Temple; succeeding President W. Darrell Foote. President Corbridge's wife, Alice Ashby Corbridge, will serve as temple matron. A sealer in the Reno Nevada Temple and high priests group leader, President Corbridge is a former counselor in a stake presidency, stake mission president and member of the Reno Nevada Temple open house and dedication committee. He is a retired chief building inspector for Washoe County. He was born in Preston, Idaho, to James Heber and Cecilia Johnson Corbridge.

Sister Corbridge, a temple ordinance worker, is a former ward Primary president and counselor, teacher and secretary in a ward Relief Society. She was born in Sparks, Nev., to Clinton L. and Annie Draper Ashby.

John Anthony Grinceri, 58, Duncraig Ward, Perth Australia Warwick Stake; called as president of the Perth Australia Temple; succeeding President Donald Wilfred Cummings. President Grinceri's wife, Vicki Dorothea Thornber Grinceri, will serve as temple matron. President Grinceri is a former Area Authority Seventy, mission president, counselor in a stake presidency, multi-stake public affairs director and bishop. He is semi-retired as managing director of Seymour Holding. He was born in Perth, Australia, to Antonio and Rosa Casella Grinceri.

Sister Grinceri is a former stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president and seminary teacher. She was born in Perth, Australia, to Philip and Valerie Williams Thornber.

Louis Groenewald, 63, Centurion Ward, Pretoria South Africa Stake; called as president of the Johannesburg South Africa Temple; succeeding President Alan Frank Hogben. President Groenewald's wife, Regina Johanna Engelbrecht Groenewald, will serve as temple matron. President Groenewald was just released as stake president, and is a former stake mission president, stake clerk, high councilor and bishop. He is a semi-retired leadership consultant. He was born in Derby, South Africa, to George De Beer and Anna Louise Groenewald.

Sister Groenewald is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women president and Relief Society teacher. She was born in Randfontein, South Africa, to Andries Johannes and Ella Maria Engelbrecht.

Robert B Harbertson, 72, Canyon View Ward, Farmington Utah North Stake; called as president of the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple; succeeding President E. Louis Butler. President Harbertson's wife, Rene Noyce Rhead Harbertson, will serve as temple matron. President Harbertson, is a former member of the First and Second Quorums of the Seventy, Area Authority Seventy, regional representative, mission president and bishop. He is a retired company owner. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to Brigham Y. and Gladys Lewis Harbertson.

Sister Harbertson, who served with her husband, Ronald R. Burke (deceased), when he was a mission president in Florida, has served in stake and ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies. She was born in Ogden, Utah, to Lewis Clifton and Maurine Hinckley Rhead.

Julio Humberto Jaramillo Bichet, 71, Compania Ward, Santiago Chile Huelen Stake; called as president of the Santiago Chile Temple; succeeding President Donnell W. Hunter. President Jaramillo's wife, Maria de las Mercedes Meza C. de Jaramillo, will serve as temple matron. President Jaramillo is a temple sealer and MTC president's counselor and a former Area Authority Seventy, regional representative, stake president and counselor. He is a retired electrical engineer. He was born in Santiago, Chile, to Carlos Humberto Jaramillo Cadena and Julia Rosa Bichet de Jaramillo.

Sister Jaramillo is a temple worker, and former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president and counselor. She was born in Santiago, Chile, to Saturnino Meza Alfaro and Blanca Castillo de Meza.

Robert Steven Patterson, 67, Cherry Hill 5th Ward, Cherry Hill Alberta Stake; called as president of the Edmonton Alberta Temple; succeeding President Donald D. Salmon. President Patterson's wife, Belva Emily Orr Patterson, will serve as temple matron. Currently serving in Israel at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies, President Patterson is a patriarch and is a former counselor in stake presidencies, high councilor and bishop. He is retired. He was born in Ft. Macleod, Alberta, to Robert Dwight and Winnifred Mary Reach Patterson.

Sister Patterson is a former stake and ward Relief Society president and counselor and counselor in a ward Primary presidency. She was born in Orton, Alberta, to Sidney Ray and Annie LaRetta Miller Orr.

Jesus Santos Montes, 65, Campestre Ward, Monterrey Mexico Roma Stake; called as president of the Monterrey Mexico Temple; succeeding President Eran A. Call. President Santos' wife, Adelfa Alanis Morin de Santos, will serve as temple matron. A temple ordinance worker and temple president's counselor, President Santos is a former counselor in a stake presidency and branch president. He is a retired printer. He was born in Ciudad Anahbac, Mexico, to Jesus Santos Rodriguez and Maria de los Angeles Montes de Santos.

Sister Santos is an assistant to the matron and temple ordinance worker. She is a former ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary president. She was born in Ciudad Camargo, Mexico, to Rosendo Alanis Olivares and Paula Morin Morin.

John Richard Thorderson, 66, Tupelo Ward, Tupelo Mississippi Stake; called as president of the Memphis Tennessee Temple; succeeding President W. Boyd Lee. President Thorderson's wife, Carol King Thorderson, will serve as temple matron. A bishop, President Thorderson is a former temple ordinance worker, regional representative, mission president, stake president and bishop. He is a retired higher education administrator. He was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, to Parley Eugene and Winona Seely Thorderson.

Currently serving as a temple ordinance worker and family history consultant, Sister Thorderson is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Relief Society president and teacher. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wallace and Elizabeth Webb King.

Ricardo Torres Villalobos, 66, Ampliacion Ward, Madero Mexico Ampliacion Stake; called as president of the Tampico Mexico Temple; succeeding President Gabriel R. Saldivar Flores. President Torres' wife, Maria del Carmen Leal de Torres, will serve as temple matron. A patriarch, President Torres is a counselor in a temple presidency, temple sealer, and former district president and bishop. He is retired. He was born in Tampico, Mexico, to Cristobal Torres Gutierrez and Alicia Villalobos Pena de Torres.

Sister Torres, assistant to the matron, is a former stake and ward Relief Society and Primary president. She was born in Tampico, Mexico, to Arturo Leal and Alejandra Canto Cervantes de Leal.

Denzel Nolan Wiser, 74, Issaquah 1st Ward, Renton Washington North Stake; called as president of the Seattle Washington Temple; succeeding President Gordon Gene Conger. President Wiser's wife, Beverly Ann Morgan Wiser, will serve as temple matron. President Wiser is a temple sealer, former counselor in a temple presidency and temple ordinance worker, regional representative and stake president. He is a retired aerospace engineer. He was born in Lewiston, Utah, to Erwin Douglas and Wanda Thompson Wiser.
