Progress continues on the Newport Beach California Temple, which is now about 70 percent complete. Workers at the temple say local members and community officials visit frequently to watch construction progress. Installation of the exterior stone is about 85 percent complete while work on the tower is underway. Interior partition work has started, with sheetrock to be installed shortly. The roughed-in mechanical and electrical work is completed. While frequent rains have slowed site work, that work is now going forward rapidly, with progress on retaining walls, sidewalks, parking lot lighting and fence expected to continue through April. Interior art glass and murals are being prepared away from the site. According to the Temple Construction Department, the entire project has progressed smoothly.
