Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Assignments for all mission presidents will be announced later. The new mission leaders and their wives are:
Larry Keith Bair, 60; Columbia Heights Ward, Vancouver Washington Stake; sealer in the Portland Oregon Temple; former stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, Primary teacher and missionary in the Peru Mission. A ward Relief Society literacy specialist, Sister Bair is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, counselor in a ward Primary presidency and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Logan, Utah, to Wilford Weeks and Afton Low Woodruff.
Joseph Foss Cowley Jr., 65; Cottonwood 12th Ward, Salt Lake Big Cottonwood Stake; counselor in the stake presidency; former high councilor, bishop and missionary in the New Zealand Auckland Mission.
