95th birthday

Musical tribute to honor Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

"A Celebration of Life," a special concert honoring President Gordon B. Hinckley on the occasion of his 95th birthday, is scheduled Friday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. A public dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 8 p.m. The dress rehearsal and the concert will be held in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Free tickets are required for both performances.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will be featured in the concert, which will include a broad selection of music and a special tribute to President Hinckley. Special guest performers will include The 5 Browns, sibling pianists all trained at the Juilliard School; Liriel Domiciano, Brazilian singer; Igor and Vesna Gruppman, world-renowned violinists; Gladys Knight, famed singer and recording artist; Stanford Olsen, distinguished Metropolitan Opera soloist; Donny Osmond, singer, actor and television star, and a special appearance by Mike Wallace, famed CBS newsman, co-editor of the TV news program 60 Minutes.

Tickets will be available online, at the Conference Center ticket office (door 4), or by calling (801) 240-0080 or toll-free 1(866) 537-8457 (1-866-LDS-TIKS) starting Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis and requests should be for family use only (limit four tickets per person). Attendance will be limited to those 8 years of age and older. No phone, fax, or large group requests will be accepted.

"A Celebration of Life" will be broadcast live at 7:30 p.m. (Mountain Daylight Time) on BYU-TV and over the Church satellite system to stake centers throughout the United States and Canada. The program will be re-broadcast as follows (all times Mountain Daylight Time):
