ILE-IFE, NIGERIA Several members of the Ile-Ife Nigeria District recently donated a pint of blood each to the SeventhDay Adventist Hospital here. This was done in phases, with the service project beginning April 29 and ending May 24. Many others not able to attend pledged to give blood at another time.
The Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital, a pioneer hospital in Ile-Ife district, having been established in 1940, was chosen for the donation in appreciation of the hospital's contributions in the area of health care. The hospital management represented by Dr. Akin Obisanya (Executive Director SDA Hospital) thanked the Church and the volunteers for the love they have expressed both for the sick and their hospital.
A professional photographer who came to cover the event was moved by the act of service and also donated a pint of blood as well.
