LDS students serve at shelter

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Interior design students from LDS Business College and members of a community organization joined forces Sept. 23-24 to serve a shelter for victims of domestic violence. The 35 students and 15 members of WoMAD (Women Making a Difference) redesigned two bedrooms at the South Valley Sanctuary in this city, doing such things as removing wallpaper, patching walls and installing bedding, accessories, closet organizers and draperies.

"The students are learning there are needs in the community and not just on the news. And that they can make a difference," said Miles Hunsaker, Interior Design Department chairman at the college. "Good design is not just for those who have money — it's for all humanity."
