Columbus youth improve community

COLUMBUS, Ohio — About 230 youth from the combined stakes of Columbus North and Columbus East stakes teamed up with a local organization, "Rebuilding Together Columbus," during their annual youth conference July 28 to improve a neighborhood in this capital city. In the blistering heat of the day, youth picked up trash, pulled weeds, mowed overgrown sidewalks and handed out free smoke detectors.

"Bless their hearts. I thank'em so much," a homeowner was quoted as saying in The Columbus Dispatch. "And they don't look like it's a chore. They're laughing the whole time."
