Conferences in Europe

PAMPOROVO, Bulgaria — Conferences for youth and young adults are abounding throughout the Church this summer. Members in Eastern Europe have held such conferences in Bulgaria and Slovenia.

In a conference in Bulgaria, youth and leaders joined in late May for a conference based on understanding the tweve tribes of Israel. After three days of workshops and activities in the resort mountaintops of Pamporovo, the youth came to more fully appreciate their role as a covenant people and their responsibility to bless the nations of the earth.

In Slovenia, 26 young adults from the nations of Serbia, Kosovo, Slovenia and Croatia gathered at Terme Catez for the annual Young Single Adult conference of the Balkan countries early in July. Participants were strengthed by meeting one another and particularly enjoyed the spirit of morning scripture study.

Highlights included a video of the Martin Handcart Company that was shown to acquaint the young people with Church pioneers. Emphasis was placed on the pioneer role of the young adults in the conference and in their countries. As first generation members, these young adults are pioneers in their families and countries.
