Sisters worldwide to gather for General Relief Society Meeting

Women 18 years old and older are invited to attend the broadcast of the General Relief Society Meeting on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. (MDT).

According to a Aug. 2, 2006, letter from the First Presidency to General Authorities and local priesthood leaders, "The sisters are encouraged to meet together in chapels to view the broadcast. The meeting will be under the direction of the stake or district presidency. The stake or district Relief Society president should be invited to sit on the stand.

"The theme of the meeting is 'Encircled in the Arms of His Love,' referring to 2 Nephi 1:15. The meeting will include addresses by a member of the First Presidency and by the Relief Society general presidency."

The meeting will be broadcast via the Church satellite system to meetinghouses in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, as well as Mexico, Central and South America, and Asia and the Pacific. The meeting will also be carried live (audio only) on the Internet at www.lds.org/broadcast, as well as over BYU Television (DISH Network, channel 9403; DirecTV, channel 374) BYU Radio (DISH Network: channel 980, IA-5: transponder 11, 3934.8 MHz, data rate 3.648 Mbs, 3/4 FEC, A02 audio PID, vertical downlink) and BYU-FM Radio (89.1 frequency, 89.5 in Utah County). The meeting will be rebroadcast over KBYU-TV, Channel 11 on Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. (MDT).
