Living by the scriptures

But charity is the pure love of Christ.....

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love .... that we may be purified even as he is pure ... — Moroni 7:47-48

My feelings were deeply hurt by someone dear to me, causing a great deal of anguish.

I read the scriptures on how important it is to forgive that we may be forgiven our trespasses. Also many articles on the subject offered help. (I have quite a collection.)

I wanted to forgive. I thought I had forgiven, but the hurt feelings remained.

One day, while reading one of my favorite scriptures in Moroni 7: 47-48 I realized what was missing. Finally, realizing that in order to fully let go and allow forgiveness to bring me peace, I had to release my negative thought, my hurt feeling, my bruised ego, my pride and my fears. By allowing the love of Christ to heal my heart, forgiveness became easy. — Lorene Plumb, Santa Clara, Utah
