New mission presidents

Seven mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1.

Victor Manuel Cardenas, 58, Mexico Merida Mission; Mira Azul Ward, Mexico City Tepalcapa Stake; counselor in the Mexico Mexico City North Mission presidency; former stake president, bishop, high councilor, branch president and missionary in the Mexico North Mission. Owner of Corporacion de Alta Tecnologia en Medicina Integral. Born in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, to Reynaldo Cardenas Savori and Alicia Lopez Zazueta de Cardenas. Married Aurora Ibarra Herrera, seven children.

A ward Relief Society family storage adviser, Sister Cardenas is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, temple ordinance worker, seminary teacher and enrichment leader. George Steven Laney, 54, Utah Salt Lake City South Mission; Ontario 4th Ward, Ontario Oregon Stake; Area Seventy; former stake president, bishop, high councilor, branch president, counselor in the Georgia Atlanta Mission presidency, multi-stake public affairs director and missionary in the Indiana-Michigan Mission.
