Mary N. Cook

Family: Born June 8, 1951, to Kenneth N. and Fern S. Nielsen. Married Richard E. Cook on July 16, 1988, in the Salt Lake Temple. He and his first wife, Clea, who died in 1984, had four children: Susan Pinegar, Janalee Leavitt, Sharon William, Richard W. Cook; 17 grandchildren.

Education: Bachelor's and master's degrees in speech pathology and audiology and Ed.S. degree from BYU.

Employment: Special education teacher, administrator and elementary school principal in Jordan (Utah) School District.

Community Service: Member of the BYU Alumni Board, volunteer with Parent to Parent, a teen drug and alcohol prevention organization.

Church service: Member of the Young Women General Board, full-time missionary in Mongolia, accompanied her husband while he presided over the newly created Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission in 1995 and while he served as a member of the Asia Area Presidency, Relief Society president, Primary counselor.
