Five new temples will be built around the world: in the greater Kansas City area; Philadelphia, Pa.; Calgary Alberta, Canada; Cordoba, Argentina; and Rome, Italy.
Cultural events that are associated with the dedication of new temples around the world are opportunities for church youths to "participate in something truly unforgettable. The friendships they form and the memories they make will be theirs forever."
Three temple dedications in the past six months have been accompanied by such pageants in Curitaba, Brazil; Panama City, Panama; and Twin Falls, Idaho. In Curitaba, prayers of faith held storms at bay until the dedication entertainment was completed.
"Our missionary force serving throughout the world continues to seek out those who are searching for the truths which are found in the gospel. ... The church is growing steadily. ... There remain, however, areas of the world where our influence is limited and where we are not allowed to share the gospel freely. ... I urge you to pray for the opening of those areas, that we might share with them the joy of the gospel."
When church members responded to the same request from then-President Spencer W. Kimball 32 years ago, "we saw miracles unfold as country after country formerly closed to the church was opened."
"Our Heavenly Father is mindful of each one of us and our needs."
