New mission presidents

Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin their service about July 1, 2009.

William Steve Albrecht, 62, and LeAnn Marie Christiansen Albrecht, six children, Japan Tokyo Mission; Sunset Heights 2nd Ward, Orem Utah Sunset Heights Stake. Brother Albrecht is a former stake president and counselor, bishop and counselor, high councilor, ward Young Men president, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Northern Far East Mission. Professor and former associate dean of the Marriott School of Business, Brigham Young University. Born in Salina, Utah, to William Torval and Elnore Rasmussen Albrecht. Sister Albrecht is a former stake Primary president, ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, gospel doctrine teacher and Church-service missionary at the Provo Missionary Training Center. Born in Waukesha, Wisc., to Lawrence Carl and Judith Jean Gehling Christiansen.

Stanton Lynn Call, 58, and Janet Lynn Newsome Call, four children, Mexico Tampico Mission; Crescent 29th Ward, Sandy Utah Crescent North Stake. Brother Call is a former stake president and counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake mission president and missionary in the West Mexican Mission. President, Core Innovative Solutions Inc. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Rulon Wood and Marianne Hickenlooper Call. Sister Call is a counselor in the stake Relief Society presidency and is a former stake Young Women president and counselor, ward Young Women president, ward Primary chorister and counselor and volunteer seminary teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul Ivan and Mary Beth England Newsome.

Mario Aparecido Dias, 41, and Carmen Lucia Goncalves de Sa Dias, five children, Brazil Teresina Mission; Jundiapeba Ward, Sao Paulo Brazil Mogi das Cruzes Stake. Brother Dias is a high councilor and a former stake mission president, ward mission leader, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency and missionary in the Brazil Porto Alegre Mission. Institute director, Church Educational System. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Leolino Dias Dos Santos and Maria Catarina Gabriel Dias. Sister Dias is a visiting teacher supervisor and a former stake and ward Primary president, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and regional Young Women camp director. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Antonio Virginio and Raimunda Goncalves Sa.

Yong Hwan Lee, 65, and In Ja Han Lee, two children, Korea Seoul Mission; Sinpung Ward, Suwon Korea Stake. Brother Lee is an Area Seventy and a former stake president and counselor, branch president and counselor in the Seoul Korea Temple presidency. Professor, Seoul National University. Born in Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam, South Korea, to Won Huee Lee and Bok Cho Cho. Sister Lee is a ward Relief Society teacher and a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, ward Relief Society president and assistant to the matron in the Seoul Korea Temple. Born in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, to Taek Kyu Han and Chum Sun Lee.

Michael Stephen Pratt, 59, and Teri Nicholls Pratt, six children, Russia Vladivostok Mission; Aspen 8th Ward, Orem Utah Aspen Stake. Brother Pratt is a former stake president and counselor, branch president and counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake Young Men president and missionary in the Finland Helsinki Mission. George Javier Tobias, 51, and Helen Langreo Asturias Tobias, five children, Philippines Bacolod Mission; Camarin 2nd Ward, Novaliches Philippines Stake. Brother Tobias is a stake president and a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, Scoutmaster, elders quorum president and institute teacher. Project manager for the Church. Born in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines, to Modesto Tadena and Zosima Castulo Javier Tobias.
