The First Presidency has announced the dates for the open house, cultural celebration, dedication and first day of operation of the Cebu City Philippines Temple.
The public open house for the temple prior to the dedication will be held May 21 through June 5, 2010 (except Sundays).
The cultural celebration including music and dance by local members will be held June 12.
The temple will be dedicated June 13, in three sessions to accommodate all of the members in the temple district.
The temple will open for ordinances on June 14, a day after the dedication.
During the groundbreaking ceremony in 2007, Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve said, "This temple will give freedom to the children of God and will be a means for them to return to their Father in Heaven. ... The temple itself is a treasure."
The First Presidency announced on April 18, 2006, that a temple would be built in Cebu City, Philippines. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 14, 2007.
The Cebu Philippines Temple complex will include patron housing, a meetinghouse, a temple president's residence, a mission president's residence and a mission office.
The new temple will be the Philippines' second temple; the Manila Philippines Temple was dedicated in 1984.
