New visitors' center directors

Eleven new visitors' center directors have been called with their wives by the First Presidency. They will begin service in January.

Linford Collier Beckstrand, 68, and Mary Louise George Beckstrand, seven children, Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors' Center; Bountiful 17th Ward, Bountiful Utah East Stake. Brother Beckstrand is serving in the Belgium/Netherlands Mission. He is a former temple ordinance worker, stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Netherlands Mission. Retired general manager, South Davis Water. Born in Fillmore, Utah, to John Milton and Eva Lovell Beckstrand.

Sister Beckstrand serves with her husband in the Belgium/Netherlands Mission and is a former stake music chairman, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency, ward organist and Relief Society instructor. Born in Fillmore, Utah, to Olaf Weldow and Blanche Stevens George.

Donald Alvin Carpenter, 68, and Patricia Dana Carpenter, five children, London England Temple Visitors' Center; Corner Canyon 3rd Ward, Draper Utah Corner Canyon Stake. Brother Carpenter serves in the Washington DC South Mission as an institute instructor. He is a former high councilor, bishop, Sunday School teacher and Church-service missionary. Retired associate commissioner, Utah System of Higher Education, State Board of Regents. Born in Logan, Utah, to George Alvin and Hortense Snow Carpenter.

Born in Palo Alto, California, to Darrell C. and Eila Mae Romney Dana.

David Lind Gillette, 74, and Doris Anita Price Gillette, five children, Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission; Monument Park 17th Ward, Salt Lake Monument Park North Stake. Brother Gillette is a former president of the Massachusetts Boston Mission, counselor in the Provo MTC presidency, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, high priest group leader and ward Young Men president. Retired attorney/land developer, Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. Born in Pasadena, Calif., to Samuel Lindberg and Zelpha Ursula Gillette.

Russell Stewart Gilliland, 63, and Karen Jones Gilliland, 10 children, Illinois Nauvoo Mission; Independence Ward, Phoenix Arizona West Maricopa Stake. Brother Gilliland is a former president of the Ohio Columbus Mission, counselor in the Mesa Arizona Temple presidency, temple sealer and ordinance worker, stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Austria Vienna Mission. Retired President, Gilliland Corporation. Born in Morenci, Ariz., to Howard Russell and Ruth Eileen Stewart Gilliland.

Born in American Fork, Utah, to Karl Gerber and Ramona Hunsaker Jones.

David Brian Johnston, 69, and Beverly Jean Packer Johnston, eight children, Portland Oregon Temple Visitors' Center; West Linn Ward, Lake Oswego Oregon Stake. Brother Johnston is a former counselor in the Caracas Venezuela Temple presidency, temple sealer, temple recorder, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, ward Young Men president, gospel doctrine teacher and priests quorum adviser. Retired Investment Banker. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Wilbur and Elizabeth Strong Johnston.

Ronald Brent Kinghorn, 70, and Donna Jean Luke Kinghorn, 10 children, Idaho Falls Temple Visitors' Center; Sugar City 1st Ward, Sugar City Idaho Stake. Brother Kinghorn is a former president of the Albania Tirana Mission, counselor in the Rexburg Idaho Temple presidency, stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, patriarch, high councilor and bishop. Retired religion faculty member, BYU-Idaho. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Ronald J. and Dorothy Rae Harrison Kinghorn.
