New temple presidents

Five new temple presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.

Laurie Baker Craig, 68, Lindon 15th Ward, Lindon Utah Stake, called as president of the San José Costa Rica Temple, succeeding President Arthur L. Porter. President Craig's wife, Pamela Kay Redd Craig, will serve as temple matron. He serves as second counselor in the San José Costa Rica Temple presidency. He has served as president of the Spain Las Palmas Mission, stake president, district president, bishop and patriarch. A retired attorney, he was born in Helena, Ark., to Laurie Moreland and Mary Baker Craig.

Sister Craig serves as an assistant to the matron of the San José Costa Rica Temple. She served with her husband as he presided over the Spain Las Palmas Mission. She has also served as stake Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president's counselor and ward organist. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Kay Bryner and Velma Esther Nalder Redd.

Robert Heiner Garff, 69, Mueller Park 10th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake, called as president of the Bountiful Utah Temple, succeeding President Douglas L. Callister. President Garff's wife, Katharine Bagley Garff, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer at the Bountiful Utah Temple. He has served as an Area Seventy, president of the England Coventry Mission, Sunday School general board member, regional representative, stake president and bishop. The chairman of the board of Garff Enterprises, Inc., he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kendall Day and Marjorie Marie Heiner Garff.

Sister Garff serves as a gospel doctrine teacher. She served with her husband as he presided over the England Coventry Mission. She has also served in a stake Relief Society presidency, as ward Young Women president, and Relief Society and Sunday School teacher. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Louis Neff and Frances Swan Bagley.

Richard D. Pincock, 74, Blanding 5th Ward, Blanding Utah Stake, called as president of the Monticello Utah Temple, succeeding President Vaughn A. Johnson. President Pincock's wife, Renee Black Pincock, will serve as temple matron. He serves as the first counselor in the Monticello Utah Temple presidency. He has served as a patriarch, stake president's counselor, bishop and high councilor. A retired teacher, he was born in Sugar City, Idaho, to Samuel Whitney and Anna Vera Bean Pincock.

Sister Pincock is assistant to the matron of the Monticello Utah Temple. She has served as ward Relief Society president, ward music chairman and ward choir director. She was born in Blanding, Utah, to O. Frost and Lucile Bailey Black.

Steven David Posey, 64, North Augusta Ward, Augusta Georgia Stake, called as president of the Atlanta Georgia Temple, succeeding President K. Dean Black. President Posey's wife, Nancy Marie Ledbetter Posey, will serve as temple matron. He serves as an area Young Adult adviser and has served as an Area Seventy, president of the Texas Fort Worth Mission, stake president, high councilor and branch president. The director and owner of Posey Funeral Directors, he was born in Inglewood, Calif., to Dudley Thayer and Alta Maria Posey.

Sister Posey serves with her husband as an area adviser for Young Adults. She previously served with her husband as he presided over the Texas Fort Worth Mission, and has also served in a stake Relief Society presidency, and as stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president. She was born in Talladega, Ala., to Robert Henry and Nancy Katherine Hall Ledbetter.

John Merrill Warthen, 66, Fountains Ward, Henderson Nevada Green Valley Stake, called as president of the Porto Alegre Brazil Temple, succeeding President Lennis M. Knighton. President Warthen's wife, Janice Kay Johnson Warthen, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a sealer in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. He has served as a counselor in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple presidency, president of the Brazil S? Paulo Interlagos Mission, stake president's counselor, and bishop. A retired businessman, he was born in St. George, Utah, to John Edward and Norma Jane Hansen Warthen.

Sister Warthen serves as a Young Women adviser and served with her husband as he presided over the Brazil S? Paulo Interlagos Mission. She has also served as an assistant to the matron of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple, in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president and counselor, ward Young Women president's counselor and ward Primary president. She was born in Billings, Mont., to Glen Barnett and Gwen Smith Johnson.
