Five homes of Latter-day Saints were destroyed by the Carlton Fire in central Washington — which burned 243,000 acres primarily within the boundaries of the Wenatchee Washington Stake this July.
No meetinghouses were impacted by the fire, according to a Church welfare report.
In response to the disaster the Church sent two truckloads of food and emergency supplies from the Bishop’s Central Storehouse.
Youth assembled and delivered non-perishable food kits to families in need. In addition, 1,150 volunteers from the Wenatchee Washington Stake provided community clean-up support.
