First Presidency announces rededication dates for Jordan River Utah Temple

The First Presidency has announced dates for the open house, cultural celebration and rededication of the Jordan River Utah Temple.

The public open house for the renovated temple will begin March 17, 2018, and run through April 28, 2018, except for Sunday and general conference weekend, according to a letter dated July 28. A cultural celebration will be held May 19 and the temple will be rededicated on May 20 in three sessions. The temple will reopen for ordinance work May 22.

The Jordan River Utah Temple was announced on Feb. 3, 1978, and dedicated on Nov. 16, 1981. It has been closed since Feb. 15, 2016, for extensive renovations. Currently, there are three other temples in the Salt Lake Valley: Salt Lake Temple, Draper Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple.
