A new stake has been organized in Tempe, Ariz. Elder Ted E. Brewerton, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, officiated at the division of the existing Tempe Arizona South Stake. The new Tempe Arizona West Stake has a membership of 3,301 people and includes the following wards: Tempe 1st, 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 15th wards, and the Ahwatukee 1st and 2nd wards.
Elsewhere, stake presidencies have been reorganized in Albuquerque, N.M.; American Fork, Kearns and Magna, Utah; Globe and Flagstaff, Ariz.; Longview, Texas; Macon, Ga.; and Nashville, Tenn.AMERICAN FORK UTAH WEST STAKE: (Jan. 15, 1989) President – Martin Paul Ludwig, 46, Geneva Steel accounting department manager, succeeding Brent Lindsey Milne; former stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop and counselor, and finance clerk, married Ethel Sue Willoughby. Counselors – Richard P. Brenchley, 45, partner in marketing company, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, and Young Men president, married Cheryl A. Snyman; Michael Stephen Pratt, 39, principal in Alpine School District, former bishop, teachers quorum adviser, branch president and counselor, married Teri Nicholls.
