Brigham Young University earned a berth in the Holiday Bowl by winning the Western Athletic Conference championship Nov. 25, with a 48-27 win over San Diego State University.
The Dec. 29 bowl game, to be played in San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium, will pit BYU against Penn State. Although BYU has appeared in 12 consecutive post-season bowls, the game will be the Cougars' first Holiday Bowl appearance since 1984. That year BYU won the college football national championship.BYU's share of tickets for the Holiday Bowl went on sale Nov. 27 to Cougar Club members, and will be available to the general public from Dec. 4-26, or until the university's allotment is sold out. Tickets are $25 each, and there is a limit of 10 per person.
