LDS youth from Georgia to represent Scouts in USSR

An LDS youth from a Dekalb County Boy Scout troop has been selected to represent the Boy Scouts of America on a visit to the Soviet Union.

Ben Brackner, a 16-year-old priest in the Tucker Ward, Tucker Georgia Stake, was selected from 50 applicants to represent the Boy Scouts on a youth exchange with the USSR.Eight Scouts and two adults will leave the Atlanta, Ga., area July 5 for the Soviet Union, and will return July 19.

In exchange, eight Soviet "Young Pioneers" and two adults will arrive in Atlanta July 1 and return July 15.

Participating in the Soviet exchange are Scouts from the Atlanta area, as well as Scouts from the Chicago area.
