Visitors laud Church museum

Written visitor comments during the past few months compare the Museum of Church History and Art with such major museums as the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., according to Glen M. Leonard, museum director.

"The comments," the director said, "make us feel good when we're told that they've not visited a more informative exhibit or more beautifully organized gallery anywhere in the world."A woman from British Columbia, Canada, wrote: "I came to see the international art exhibit. It was wonderful and exciting to see the folk art represented."

Carefully pointing out that she is "not LDS" a visitor from the East wrote: "Your museum is rich in history and cultures, something to be proud of."

Pictures of some of the early Mormon artists' paintings from the museum were recently featured in a series of six articles in a Maryland newspaper.
