Latter-day Saints in Siberia have launched a handcart trek to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley. The handcart, built in Siberia, will make appearances in major cities of six missions in Russia and two in Ukraine. It will be transported to the United States to join the last portion of a wagon train entering the Salt Lake Valley on July 22.
Up to 200 people joined a parade with the handcart in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, on Feb. 22. Open fires, hot soup and cocoa helped warm them at the end of the event. See page 8.
