Missionaries exercise faith in promise

The missionaries in the Philippines Tacloban Mission have learned, firsthand, of the conversion power of the Book of Mormon.

From their own experience, they have faith that the Holy Ghost will bear testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, just as Moroni promised, said Mission Pres. Fred Dimaya. This mission-wide witness came as the result of the testimony of a set of zone leaders. These elders had learned that by reading the Book of Mormon with investigators and praying with them, that the Holy Ghost was certain to bear witness.

These zone leaders shared their personal experiences with the other missionaries during a zone conference.

"In each instance," said Pres. Dimaya, "the Spirit bore witness."

With their own testimony of Moroni's promise, they challenge families to learn for themselves. The mission averages nearly 80 baptisms per month.
