  • Irene and George CannonMarried 70 years ago on Oct. 19, 1927, in Heber City, Utah, and later sealed in the Hawaii Temple. They lived in Hawaii for 52 years where he was president of Meadow Gold Hawaii and managing director of Beatrice Foods, Far East Division. He was a stake president, mission president's counselor, on the board of directors of the Polynesian Cultural Center for 27 years, and active in civic affairs. She was Primary and Relief Society president, and president of the Hawaii Division of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Members of the Park Seville Ward, Orem Utah Park Stake. Parents of five children (three living), they have nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

  • Neca and Jesse Walker

Married 74 years ago on Oct. 27, 1923, in Richmond, Calif. He was a typesetter and repaired linotype machinery, and she owned a beauty shop. A great-grandson of Hyrum Smith, he is a member of the Cordelia Ward, Fairfield California Stake. He has served as Sunday School superintendent, Young Men Mutual Improvement Association superintendent, and high priests group leader. She is known for her kindness to the missionaries, and also for her needlework. They continue to enjoy dancing. They have one son and one grandson.

  • Warner and Ida Watkins

Married 70 years ago on Oct. 27, 1927, one of four couples to be married in the Arizona Temple on the day it opened. Lived in Phoenix, Ariz., most of their lives where he was a truck driver and used-truck salesman. He served in a branch presidency, Sunday School presidency and as a temple worker. She was Relief Society president in three wards, and Primary president and temple worker. They filled a full-time mission in Washington, D.C. Parents of seven children, all of whom were married in the Arizona Temple, and they have 36 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
