For the first time, all four of the Tabernacle Choir's conductors will take turns at the podium during a concert Thursday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Salt Lake Tabernacle.
Billed as "A Celebration of Freedom and Liberty," the choir will be led by Jerold Ottley, music director and conductor, and Craig Jessop, Mack Wilberg and Barlow Bradford, the choir's three associate directors.
The program will include popular and familiar favorites, including: "Glorious Everlasting," "Ode to Music," "Come, Come, Ye Saints," a medley of Disney favorites, a "Liberty" medley, and others.
The concert, which is free to the public, is sponsored by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge in commemoration of its 50th anniversary. The foundation was founded in 1949, with Dwight D. Eisenhower as its first honorary chairman.
Tickets are not required for the Tabernacle Choir's concert; seating will be on a first-come basis. Latecomers will be permitted to enter only during the intermission.
