Delilah Hatch Brown, 93, member of the General Board of the Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association from 1966 to 1969, died Aug. 29, 1999, in Salt Lake City. She also served with her husband, Frank H. Brown, from 1959 to 1963 in the East Central States Mission, where she served as president of the mission Relief Society. Afterward, she served with her husband when he was assistant director of the Mission Home in Salt Lake City.

Ruth Elaine Muir Gardner, 72, author of LDS hymns "Families Can Be Together Forever" and "Go Forth in Faith," died Sept. 1, 1999, in Salt Lake City. She served simultaneously on the Primary General Board and on the General Church Music Committee from 1971 to 1985. Several other of her original songs are published in the Children's Songbook.
