Association created for member students in Ghana university

CAPE COAST, Ghana — A chapter of the Latter-day Saints Students Association has been formed at the Cape Coast University in Ghana.

This organization will serve as liaison between Church and university student activities.

An open house was held April 20 during which special guests from the university and Cape Coast Ghana Stake participated in a program.

Guests included President Thomas K. Appiah of the stake and President Duane R. Hoem of the Ghana Accra Mission. Messages by priesthood leaders and students were inspiring.

The open house was a means of introducing the gospel and the Church to the more than 250 people who attended. Displays were also set up to explain the Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School, and family history organizations and priesthood quorums.

There are nearly 2,500 students attending Cape Coast University, including approximately 20 members of the Church.
