ANOKA, Minn. — More than 40 teachers were recognized May 6 at a teacher appreciation night presented by their students, members of Anoka Minnesota Stake.
Anoka stake public affairs director Allison Toronto opened the program by explaining, "The evening was entitled 'Just Desserts.' Tonight we hope to give you hearty thanks for your tireless efforts in an often thankless profession. And our title is also a play on words, because we will be having 'just dessert.' "
Held on the evening of National Teacher Appreciation Day, the event honored local teachers from three elementary schools, one community school, one junior high school, four middle schools and five high schools.
