Benefit for military, missionaries

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Children from each of the Long Beach California Stake's nine wards sang in choirs during a Primary music fireside attended by 400 people on Nov. 14 at the stake center. Organized by stake Primary President Lupe Fineangano, the musical presentation was a prelude to the evening's activity of writing letters to full-time missionaries and military personnel serving from the stake. Each ward created a display table with photos of their missionaries and military personnel. Pens and paper were provided so everyone had a chance to send a holiday greeting.

After the Primary choir from each ward had performed its song, Bishop Daniel Vance of the Long Beach 7th Ward spoke of the importance of writing to those who are serving far from their homes.

The children and their families also brought canned goods to be donated to needy families over the holidays.
