Charity: The pure love of Christ

Those who are familiar with the mortal ministry of Jesus Christ are best able to understanding the words of Moroni that "charity is the pure love of Christ." (Moroni 7:47.) The Savior "went about doing good" (Acts 10:38) during his sojourn in the Holy Land. His acts — such as blessing the sick, comforting those in sorrow, strengthening the spiritually weak and feeding the hungry — set the example for those who desire to follow Him. And if they emulate His example and are "found possessed of (charity) at the last day, it shall be well with them," Moroni promised. (Moroni 7:47.)

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never athirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.(John 4:13-14)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. (Luke 4:18)

And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. (Luke 7:21-22)

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. (Mark 10:13-14)
