Young Oklahoman wins competition

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Kathleen O'Dell, a Laurel in the Cedar Ridge Ward, Tulsa Oklahoma East Stake, won first prize in a statewide competition sponsored by the Oklahoma Heritage Association. Kathleen was selected the winner of the poster and essay competition for grades 10 through 12. The competition invited young Oklahomans to write about the state capitol and how it can be an inspiration.

Her winning essay and poster was honored Nov. 29 at an awards ceremony at the Oklahoma State Capitol Building, and were recognized by Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry.
