Christmas tradition in Ghana

ACCRA, Ghana — Members and civic leaders gathered early this month on the grounds of the Accra Ghana Temple for what Accra Daily Mail described as a tradition "beginning to take root in the national capital." Participating in the Third Annual Christmas Devotional and Music Program, those attending watched the lighting of a Christmas tree by Elder Craig A. Cardon of the Seventy and first counselor in the Africa West Area presidency, who was assisted by Deputy Interior Minister, Mr. Agyeman-Man.

Accra Daily Mail writer Alhaji Harruna Attah described the event as a "night of inspirational music and prayer and when the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) struck the Ghana National Anthem, the large audience stood to attention to 'give Caesar his due."'
