New mission presidents

Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service about July 1.

Clark Thorpe Bishop, 57, and Nora Linn Holdaway Bishop, five children, Taiwan Taichung Mission; Sunset Heights 7th Ward, Orem Utah Sunset Heights Stake. Brother Bishop is a former counselor in a Provo Missionary Training Center branch, high councilor, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the Taiwan Mission. Pulmonary/critical care physician, Intermountain Healthcare. Born in Provo, Utah, to Francis Walker and Cleo Thorpe Bishop.

Sister Bishop is a former stake Relief Society president and counselor, gospel doctrine teacher, ward Relief Society teacher and Church service missionary. Born in Provo, Utah, to Reed Amos and Margaret Taylor Holdaway.

Nelson Croxall Cannon, 56, and Shirin Ingeborg Omana Cannon, four children, Canada Montreal Mission; Mount Olympus 8th Ward, Salt Lake Mount Olympus North Stake. Brother Cannon is currently serving as a ward executive secretary and is a former counselor in stake and ward Young Men presidencies, counselor in a bishopric, and missionary in the Belgium Brussels Mission. Treasury risk manager, Monavie. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Emerson Taylor and Leonora Cannon.

Sister Cannon is currently serving as a primary teacher and is a former Seminary teacher, counselor in stake and ward Young Women presidencies, ward Primary president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and missionary in the Norway Oslo Mission. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Majid and Birgit Andersen Omana.

Derek Lane Cordon, 46, and Bonnie Hillam Cordon, four children, Brazil Curitiba Mission; Bridlewood Ward, Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake. Brother Cordon serves as the stake mission preparation instructor and is a former high councilor, bishop and counselor, Scoutmaster, ward clerk, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Argentina Cordoba Mission. Director, Omniture, an Adobe Company. Born in Upland, Calif., to Nolan Ralph and Roberta Larsen Cordon.

Sister Cordon serves as a seminary teacher and is a former ward Primary president and counselor, ward Young Women adviser, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harold Gordon and Carol Lois Rasmussen Hillam.

Douglas Dee Holmes, 49, and Erin Toone Holmes, six children, Michigan Detroit Mission; Farmington 2nd Ward, Farmington Utah South Stake. Brother Holmes is a former bishop and counselor, gospel doctrine teacher, ward mission leader, Elders quorum president and missionary in the Scotland Mission. Self-employed. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dee W. and Melba Howell Holmes.

Richard Wallace King, 53, and Melinda Lange King, six children, Chile Santiago West Mission; Grandview 6th Ward, Provo Utah Grandview Stake. Brother King is a former high councilor, counselor in a bishopric, high priest group leader, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Colombia Bogota Mission. Brother Montalti serves as a stake president and is a former bishop and counselor, ward mission leader and missionary in the Venezuela Maracaibo Mission. Carlos Villarreal, 49, and Myrna Ann Garza Villarreal, four children, Mexico Mexico City West Mission; Boerne 1st Ward, San Antonio Texas Hill Country Stake. Brother Villarreal serves as a bishop and is a former high councilor, counselor in the Texas San Antonio Mission presidency, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the Argentina Rosario Mission.
