New mission presidents

Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.

Devin George Durrant, 50, and Julie Lois Mink Durrant, six children, Texas Dallas Mission; Grandview 21st Ward, Provo Utah Grandview Stake. Brother Durrant serves as a counselor in a stake Sunday School presidency and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, stake institute instructor, stake mission president, high councilor and missionary in the Spain Madrid Mission. Sister Durrant serves as a stake Relief Society president and is a former stake institute instructor, stake Primary secretary, stake missionary, Relief Society president, family history consultant, and missionary in the Peru Arequipa Mission. Born in Ithaca, N.Y., to Oscar Gorton Mink and Julia Lavern Boyce.

Bruce Edward Ghent, 53, and Kathryn Spencer Ghent, five children, Ecuador Quito Mission; Manhattan Beach Ward, Torrance California North Stake. Brother Ghent serves as an assistant area executive secretary in the South America Northwest Area and is a former ordinance worker in the Los Angeles California Temple, stake president, stake executive secretary, high councilor, bishop and missionary in the Mexico Villahermosa Mission. Retired owner of a construction and development company. Born in Torrance, Calif., to Robert Maynard Sr. and Dorothy Francis Sharpnack Ghent.

Brother Lekias serves as a stake president and is a former high councilor, bishop, elders quorum president, counselor in a Young Men presidency and missionary in the New Zealand Christchurch Mission.
